Summer Associate Program

Bailes, Craig, and Yon encourages those first, second, and third year law students who wish to be exposed to everything a general practice has to offer to apply. Typically, the firm employs one or two summer associates each year. Although outstanding academic credentials are a necessity, they represent only one aspect of what it takes to become a successful attorney. Although legal research is a critical element of practicing law, it’s not the only one. Summer associates will also draft legal documents and shadow attorneys at hearings, depositions, and even trials. The firm tends to look first at students who are from West Virginia, and especially those with ties to not only this community, but also with ties to those clients whom we represent.
